Failure of towers is seldom analyzed, discussed throughout the World as it involves many parties such as designers, the fabricators, the erectors and the utilities that use them and maintains them. If a tower in service suddenly fails, the utility desires to find out the reason and to investigate the failure. JTT has built up expertise in this important field and helped many utilities to come out with reasons.

Failure could be due to one or more of the following:

• Quality of materials used
• Improper assembly and erection methods.
• Independent Quality Audit of towers not done
• Improper or no maintenance
• Over loading
• Theft of members, fasteners

• Natural disasters such as cyclones, earthquakes, Tsunami, fire

After failure of towers in the field, independent assessment is done by visiting sites and capturing details or based on photos shared to come to definite conclusions on the possible reasons and suggest rectification.
